Speed4E
Hyper-high speed for the electrified automotive powertrain to achieve maximum ranges. In the Speed4E project, experts from industry and science are working together to develop an innovative high-speed powertrain for use in electrified automobiles.
FVA awards the Hans Winter Prize 2019 to Björn Prase
At the FVA Information Conference on December 4 and 5, 2019 in Würzburg, Dipl.-Ing. Björn Prase from the Institute of Design and Drive Technology (IKAT) at Chemnitz University of Technology was awarded the 20th Hans Winter Prize of the Drive Technology Research Association (Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik e.V.). (FVA) for the first time.
X MOTIVE - Produce Future Mobility
Electric mobility, fuel cells, Power2X - The change in mobility is complex and in the future there will not only be one type of drive on the market. This presents the entire industry with new challenges. The transformation process must be actively accompanied. In order to meet the current challenges, the VDMA would like to support its members.
Individual mobility needs more than battery-operated electric vehicles
To achieve climate protection in the transport sector, politicians are relying almost exclusively on electromobility. But the CO2 avoidance costs of battery-powered electric vehicles are far too high.
Vehicle development for tomorrow's mobility
The challenges of electromobility can best be studied directly on site with the developers. Andreas Rimkus, Member of the Bundestag for the SPD, was therefore a guest at the Aachen-based development service provider FEV Group.

11th E-MOTIVE Expert Forum - cooperative competition for the best solutions for the powertrain of the future
The change in mobility can no longer be halted. The variety of requirements in the respective markets also requires a variety of available technologies. Hybridization and electrification are gaining momentum, as is the development of decarbonized synthetic fuels known as eFuels. Tomorrow's mobility is based on mechanical engineering - and requires open technology.

Battery development plays a central role in the success of electric mobility. Hartmut Rauen, Deputy Managing Director of VDMA, demands the production of battery cells in Europe.
The most important finding of the study is: "For mechanical engineering, the mobility transformation process offers opportunities for additional value creation," explained VDMA President Carl Martin Welcker on the occasion of the publication of core results of the study.

The ZEV index measures the attractiveness of electric mobility in comparison to the combustion engine. For the year 2023, the index forecasts for Europe the same attractiveness of electric cars and cars with combustion engines.

"Technological change must not be based rigidly on one technology"
The change in drive technology is affecting both the automotive industry and its suppliers. The aim is to strengthen value creation in Germany and Europe through state-of-the-art products and technologies. Change must not be based rigidly on one technology.
